Grandfather clock radio

This radio was bought at Kutztown September 2013 Radio show. As described in a former post, the chassis was complete but very dirty and with some rust, the cabinet was in a fair condition, and the clock was with a non original faceplate, hands and machine. This set has been trough a complete restoration: kitchen Lysol was used to remove the grease and phosphoric acid based product was used to dissolve the rust; all capacitors were replaced and the oscillator coil was rewound; the cabinet veneer was re-glued in some areas and the finish was removed with varnish stripper; toner lacquer Mohawk with 2 different grades was used before about 6 layers of semi-gloss lacquer; the faceplate was drawn from other grandfather clock photo using Pixelmaster in a iMac, and it is available on the radio page; a new clock machine is in use while I don`t find a original one. Radio and clock work great!
