The day was just gorgeous. Again, the show took place in two pavilions of the Renninger's outdoor show field, in Kutztown PA, on May 9th and 10th 2014. Dealers and collectors from everywhere, including a bunch from MAARC, gathered to display and sell radio receivers, audio and ham radios, radio accessories, parts, tubes, and memorabilia. Again, I went just for the first day. I got some radios in bad shape for a complete restoration, something that I really like to do.

It has been a while I don't buy any radio form eBay. However, in just one week I found two radios that I was looking for. The philco I first saw in an oil-on-canvas painting print-out by Logan that a friend of mine sent me via facebook as a christmas card and since then I have been looking for the actual radio.  Here is the a copy of the canvas and a photo of the original Philco Model 40-115:

   

 

The Airline has a nice and very attractive big dial. I first saw it in the show and tell part of one of ours MAARC meetings, I don't remember each one. Photo of the Airline 54BR1506B:

A new addition to collection from MAARC April monthly meeting has already been restored and a new page is up. It is a RCA 15X from 1941 with a chassis RC-462-A, the first serie. The radio was in a great cosmetics and complete. A cleaning with GoJo for hands and a polishing and buffing was enough to get the bakelite shine back. The chassis was all recapped and cleaned. Plays great.

The Tri-State Radio Fest took place in Monaca, PA on April 6th, 2014. Besides the traditional indoor flea market, there were a Zenith theme contest and a radio and test equipment auction.

The event was pretty fair, and I got the following sets from the flea market:

A Farnsworth ET-061 and a Silvertone 3311 (candy dial)

I replaced the Simple PHP Blog tool by developing this new one based on Joomla 3.2. 

Now the reader can switch between Portuguese or English languages. Also, new information related to Speakers and Test Equipments will be available soon. Feel free to send suggestions or gaps, errors, etc.
